Meet Paul J. Bello – ACE, BCE, MBA

Paul J. Bello, the owner and sole consultant of PJB Pest Management Pro, is an Associate (ACE) and Board Certified Entomologist (BCE). His journey began in 1976 as a licensed pest management applicator and has evolved into a career marked by innovation, education, and leadership.

Educational Background

Paul holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture in Entomology from the University of Georgia and an MBA in Accounting from Adelphi University. He had the privilege of studying under Dr. Austin M. Frishman, a pioneer in the pest control industry, at the Pest Control Technology program at SUNY Farmingdale. This mentorship shaped Paul’s foundational understanding of pest control and inspired his career-long commitment to excellence. Paul is also the founder of the Dr. Austin M. Frishman endowment scholarship at Purdue University.

A Legacy of Expertise and Innovation

Paul’s extensive career has included:

  • Serving as a technician, technical director, manufacturer’s technical representative, and consultant.
  • Making media appearances on National Geographic's Swarms and being featured in The New York Times, Newsday, and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
  • Contributing as a revision editor for the industry-standard Mallis Handbook of Pest Control, 8th Edition.
  • Authoring industry-renowned books such as The Bed Bug Combat Manual and The Cockroach Combat Manual II (co-authored with Dr. Frishman).
  • Publishing numerous articles in Pest Management Professional and Pest Control Technology magazines and writing the long-standing column On the Road With....
